Don't you hate when holidays occur in the middle of the week?! Returning to work feels like it's stealing so much of your joy energy. Thinking "why was my weekend so short" lol. Here's a few things that get my mornings moving:
1. Getting dressed and putting myself together
2. Pour a cup of cold refreshing PEPPERMINT tea for my walk. It's a tea I started making when I was pregnant because herbal teas are caffeine FREE. Super refreshing!🥃
3. Listen to a comedy channel on the Pandora App ( maybe @kevinhart4real or @mikeepps ). I love music during my travels but something about humor in the morning puts me in a good mood for my day. Getting on the packed trains of MTA and enjoying some laughs instead of being annoyed by the person who's arm is almost leaning on top of your head.
Peppermint Iced Tea
“ Super refreshing ”
I started making this tea while I was pregnant because I absolutely love tea and I always have. I like it both hot and cold. I was always really thirsty due to low iron, I have Anemia and it was worst when I was pregnant. Tea usually has caffeine in it and some teas have more caffeine than others. I drank a lot of iced tea regularly but I was drinking even more iced tea since I was thirsty all the time and when I found out I couldn't have caffeine while I was pregnant I was stressed! So I started making my own caffeine free iced tea using herbal teas that specifically say "caffeine free". I love the peppermint tea flavor and since I was making my own iced tea I could also make it as sweet as I wanted and when I was pregnant I really did not want much sweets and I had to water down all my juice. Long story short my tea became epic and I have everyone hooked! My boyfriend used to talk sh*** about my tea but now when the pitcher is empty he's asking me "babe when are you going to make more tea?!"
Steps to make Peppermint iced tea
Its really simple and fast:
1. I boil a small pot of water.
2. after boiling I put in 4 tea bags and 1 cup of sugar (I add the sugar to the hot water because it dissolves faster in hot water than the cold water).
3. I stir the hot water, sugar, and tea bags slowly so the tea bags don't burst.
4. I take my pitcher that I got from Amazon which holds a gallon of liquid, and I put in half of the bag of ice.
5. I take the pot of concentrated tea and sugar lol and I put it in the pitcher of ice. The ice melts quickly but not all of it and I fill the rest of the pitcher up with cold water. Just give the pitcher of tea quick stir and its ready to drink!

SB: Don't put the tea bags in a pitcher of cold water beacuase it would take a day or more for the tea to properly diffuse from the tea bag.
